Workshop: Navigating Complex Situations

Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at 6:00 AM until 7:00 AMPacific Standard Time UTC -08:00

Join us for a free active learning workshop on decision making and a glimpse into the curriculum of our Master of Science in Decision Making and Applied Analytics (MDA) and Certificate in Decision Making and Applied Analytics (CDA).

In today’s increasingly interconnected world, the ability to analyze and navigate complex situations on a personal, team-based, and organizational level is essential for any aspiring leader. In this session, we will discuss and apply tools to understand the complex causal relationships which underlie social systems, in order to make better informed decisions and achieve desired outcomes in any context. We will examine fundamental concepts to understand the underlying structures of cause and effect, especially in non-linear situations. We will work through examples and case studies from Minerva’s graduate curriculum and discover how our graduate programs can help you become a more confident decision-maker and leader.

Please note that this session will require attendees' active participation in order to effectively demonstrate our learning methodology. Due to the interactive nature of the event, we will not be able to record it.

Facilitated by: Jonathan Powers, Associate Professor of Social Sciences and Arts & Humanities

We will share short pre-reading material for review before the session to facilitate active participation.
